Tylko Recommends: The Top Reads of 2016

3 min. read on:

It may be nippy outside, but we don’t mind. The team at Tylko has rounded up a list of our favorite stay-in-and-cosy-up titles for 2016 to help you survive the season.

Winter is the time for staying in and staying warm, and there’s nothing more comforting than flipping through the pages of a book as you wait out the season’s lull. A good read gives a great excuse to hunker down and enjoy the comforts of home. The team at Tylko has selected their top titles of 2016 for your reading pleasure:

Warszawa Warsaw (by Autor Rooms)

“Fresh out of the publishing house presses! A brand new project from Warsaw-based Mamastudio (a visual communication boutique agency) exploring the hidden gems of Poland’s capital. This is a carefully-curated list of the best places in town – from the best spots on the banks of the Vistula river to the finest coffee roasters in town. “Warszawa Warsaw” is a great guide to modern living in the city.”

Mikołaj – Tylko’s Founder

The Kinfolk Home: Interiors for Slow Living (by Nathan Williams)

“One of my favorite lifestyle publications of this year. Indie lifestyle darlings Kinfolk visited the homes of 35 creatives to explore how they inhabit their personal spaces. Beautiful photos, amazing interiors, great essays and intimate interviews – all exploring the idea of slower-paced and more careful living. A perfect end-of-the-year read!”

Pamela – Design Intern

Indoor Green: Living with Plants (by Bree Claffey)

“Just like Carrie Bradshaw with her shoes, I very much believe that you can never have too many houseplants. The more the better. Bree Claffey agrees and gives some foolproof ideas on how to transform your apartment with a majestic monstera deliciosa or a few suculentas. And if keeping the plants alive is not really your thing, you can always use the book as decoration itself.”

Michał – Designer

The Monocle Guide to Drinking and Dining (by Monocle)

“If you ever wonder what’s cool and hip at the moment, you should turn to Monocle. This new 2016 title is fully devoted to the celebration of big and small gatherings – as well as all things food and drink. What’s not to like? I loved the previous editions of Monocle Guides – like the one on cosy living – and this one is equally great.”

Rafał – 3D Artist

Living with Pattern: Color, Texture, and Print at Home (by Rebecca Atwood)

“Pattern can sometimes be overwhelming when styling your home, but this book guides you effortlessly through mixing and matching patterns (and sometimes purposefully not matching!) to give your home spark and vitality. As someone who loves visual texture, flipping through this book of beautiful photos is a treat in itself – and it also looks great on a bookshelf thanks to it’s gorgeous cover.”

Zuza – Content Manager

As winter wears on, there’s no better way to while away the days than with a good book in hand. They say there’s no such thing as too many books – just too few shelves!  Luckily Tylko has you covered in that department too. Happy reading!
